PvE Expansion - Mystery Island

Got an idea for PvE, new island... Mystery Island. Here's how it works.... When you click the island, the enemies, items dropped, and tokens dropped are all question marks! It's completely random!

You have no idea until you load the dungeon what enemies and bosses you will fight. And when the chest drops at the end it's a question mark box also. You could get a jabber token or a shade token. You could get a million coins or 1. You could get a common material or one you normally have to craft. Rune could be crap or PvP quality.

Devs you should totally do this! @Joel @Eej . Pick a set number of rewards/types and just make it all random payouts! 10 energy to play.

(I do not not own this idea in any way shape or form. Still, DB has my permission to use this idea. I am owed no monetary compensation from this idea if implemented!) So do it!

What do you all think of this idea?

  • PS - The room count and type will be random also. Could be easy 3 rooms or epic 6 rooms. First room dungeon could be ice, then a grass hill, then volcano, and end on a desert plain. The combinations are endless and hilarious. Just use a grey foggy tunnel or swirly lights tunnel to connect them.

    I like the mystery aspect but you're making it seem TOO random.

    Perhaps this would be better:
    - 5 dungeons, like the other islands.
    - Drops can be gold, tokens, potions (both xp and health/energy)
    - Drops are somewhat random, you'll likely get a mix of 2 or more things, but you could technically just get one. To compensate, rewards would balance out. Get a ton of tokens? Less gold and potions. Tons of gold? Less tokens and potions, you get the idea.
    - Drops generally get better with each dungeon floor, although just like the actual dungeons we already have, a purple chest from one dungeon could be better than a silver chest from the next most difficult dungeon.
    - A new environment entirely would be nice. I'm tired of old environments. Maybe like a cave with crystals on the walls and ceilings. Mysterious enough, and would make a cool design for future levels, like in the next half of Boss mode...
    - Enemies would be random, but not TOO random. As in, in each room, there's 5 pre-set teams that can appear, and it's random which group of enemies you'll fight each room. Every level has its own sets of enemies that can appear in each room. Mini-boss and Boss rooms only would have 3 options. I just don't think the enemies should be TOTALLY random. You won't know what you'll face, but they'll have coordination and be strong together.
    - No runes, sorry. If they were in the mix they'd likely just ruin the quality of the other drops and end up being mostly lackluster themselves. Perhaps a Rune island would be a better place for that.

    ...which is why I'm saying it's not a very good idea. Honestly, do you think people want MORE RNG?

    Well sadly I think that's what a lot of this game is, until you get powerful runes and heroes. Then you can pretty much use any team in any PvE level you want. Until then though, and even after in PvP, you've gotta use planning.
