What is a "Chi" Attack?

A bit curious what MK's "Vibrating Palm" is. It says its a "Chi" attack. What's the meaning of that? One would think it should be a Spirit attack, meaning it should deal more damage to those Alex clones that have Spirit vulnerability, or be negated by Ekko who has Spirit Immune. I guess "Chi" is just another way of making it a non-Physical, non-Magic attack, yet one that isn't a Spirit Attack either... Just another way BossFight shows their undying love for MK, I guess.

  • It would make sense that Chi should be a spirit attack. From my viewing of various animes, Chi or Ki is supposed to be your spiritual energy. So MK, being a ninja and all, can summon his spiritual energy as a projectile.
  • I don't think this is what Chi means, but Vibrating palm isn't affected by anything.

I'm pretty sure chi is some type of spiritual energy as well. I get that VP isn't supposed to be blocked by invulnerabilities, but I don't think that should mean it shouldn't be a spirit attack. Maybe make it so it even bypasses Spirit Immune? Or would that still be too much?
