Solaris event broken?

So if I am vip level 10, I have to earn 2000 points to get the Solaris tokens from this “event”. But if I am $5 from vip 10 I can spend that $5 and get 600 tokens...seriously? @Joel

This is why vip 10 plus people are not spending money on this game like they used to. If the deal was, here vip 10 players, enjoy this hero at 6 stars...I would probably buy some gem packs or the upcoming holiday items to thank you and not sweat it.

Now I plan my resources out of spite so I don’t have to spend money.

  • I think once they get to VIP 10 they then need to get 2000 more VIP points for the tokens (I may be wrong though).

Correct ... if already VIP 10 ... its spend $150 on anything and get 600 Solaris tokens as a bonus.

The most ridiculous “event” in the history of DB. Seriously !?

The event banner does not mention anything about the additional 2000 points, which I assume is another $250 (based on 8 points per $1).

It literally says "Gain VIP 10 to receive 600 solaris tokens" "Tokens will be granted if you reach VIP level 10 during the event!"

So are they just misleading everyone?

This isn't meant to be an "event", it's simply a special offer. Tokens will be sent out at the end of the offer's duration.

@Joel I am not VIP 10 nor will I hit it during this event for the 600 tokens, but is it true that once you hit VIP 10, you have to gain another 2,000 VIP points to get the 600 tokens? If so, isn't that just blatant misleading when the event banner clearly does not mention anything about another 2,000 points?

What about the folks who are already VIP 10, do they have to hit another 2,000 VIP points?
  • JoelJoel Member, Administrator, Moderator, Boss Fight
If you were not VIP 10 when the offer began, you simply need to reach VIP 10 to get the tokens, you do not need to get an additional 2,000 points. If you were already VIP 10 when the offer began, you need to earn 2,000 VIP points to get the tokens.

I’m confused. This actually screws over the players who have spent the most.
    Level: 70
    Favorite hero: Hansuke
Currently: Waiting for new PvE content and the PvP revamp.

How so? VIP 1 - 10 takes 8,000 VIP points. Most players have less than 6,000 VIP points.

If I am VIP 9 with 7900 points, I can get 600 tokens for 100 points. If I am VIP 10 with 16000 points, I need to get 6000 more points.

@JackHallow666 ‘s point is that those that have already supported this game for $1000+ are not rewarded without shelling out another $250. These guys are the financial pillars that support Dungeon Boss. Why screw them over?

It is necessary to screw them over so that Solaris remains a rare and valuable hero.
  • The player who is VIP 9 and just shy of VIP 10 can spend $20 and get 600 Solaris tokens. Yet the player who has been VIP 10 for a year and a half and still has been spending $ even without a higher VIP their and has to spend $250 to get those same 600 tokens.
@Joel that is the issue, that is why you are losing those long time whales. The complete disregard for the long time supporter is what is causing them to leave.
  • Ok Joel this is so unfair to players such as myself that have paid a lot to be a VIP 10. I have been for over a year and spent a lot of money to get there. Now your wanting me to pay even more money for Solaris??? Not! If big fish can not let q VIP have Solaris as a loyal customer then not ev4n worth it. Not paying any more for my level 70

I honestly am at a complete loss why people are upset over this.

People will get mad about anything >.<

The number of people who are within 2,000 points of VIP10 is probably a very small group of people. The number of people who are $20 away from VIP 10 could probably be counted on 2 fingers if we're being generous. So they had some lucky timing - Cool. It doesn't really affect your game experience except in the most marginal way if you happen to encounter them in pvp. And that's a temporary marginal difference at worst.

    Much ado about nothing.

I'm like a VIP 70+ at this point with a 6 star Solaris for reference.
  • i think the spirit of the argument is that different $$ gets you different results, when really all currency should be the same.
I was one of the few who was only inches from VIP10 and gobbled this up instantly, but I do not support the "sorry you're at 10 already, please provide us with $250 more".
They could have done a simple - "he're a 1-time deal folks - we got solaris tokens for the ripe price of $1 per token - get'em while they're hot!"
I imagine MANY people would have bought small packages here - just picture all those guildies who are at 80/100 for solaris unlock - snagging a quick Jackson from 100's of players if far preferable than flat out demanding next months car payment. I also imagine many existin VIPs would have made small purchases to get the 5th star (people at about 120/150 like me).

This is all well and good you have a Solaris. However I don't yes I'm upset because I would like to have him. I'm on a fixed income from being a disabled American Veteran and it's hard for me to spend any more money. I'm glad money does bother you. But why should I spend any more money

I'm not sure yet where I stand in this solaris offer yet, but when I read your post, I have to ask what your solution is?

You mentioned you don't have a lot of disposable income, yet what I'm inferring from your post is that you are upset that you don't have Solaris? You aren't forced to spend money in this game. Almost every aspect of this game can be achieved with spending $0. It just takes time, a lot of it.
  • I don’t like to complain about things but I am not really happy that I went to vip 10 2 days ago. If I would’ve waited two days I would’ve got 600 tokens l. Now I must spend 250$ for them? No way. Would’ve been nice to make it less for vip 10s . But 250$ in 3 days for vip 10s is not really cool. This really only benefits people that happen to get lucky on the timing and only need to spend 20-40$ to get to vip 10..I wouldn’t complain if vip 10s got good perks for being vip 10s but we honestly don’t

  • To go from VIP 9 to VIP 10 costs $300. Most players in this range likely have a 4 or 5 star Solaris, unless they missed her debut. She has a current offer in the shop for 50 tokens for $30. To get 400 or 250 tokens costs $240 or $150, respectively.

It looks like the VIP 10 Solaris offer is focused on players that are VIP 9 and halfway to VIP 10. Not a good value otherwise.

Considering that stars are pretty much worthless I can’t imagine many taking advantage.

Stars may have a bigger role sometime down the line, but for now, yes they are fairly useless.

I wonder after all these folks spend money to get to VIP 10 (or spend more if already 10), if DB will just nerf Sol. I wouldn't be surprised and that will piss off a lot of folks.
  • Combat revamp is expected soon(tm), stars are supposed to have a greater impact post revamp.

Congratulations to BFG on being acquired for $990 million by Aristocract. They wanted the social casino portion of BFG, will DB be sold off now?

Well cr@p, who knows what will happen to DB now...
  • Personally, I feel the whole thing reeks of desperation! "Hey! You've already spent $1000 on this game. What's another $250?? Come on! We need holiday bonuses!"

Once again a blatant (slap in the face) to those who have supported DB for over 2yrs. If you are VIP 10 it's a good bet you've been playing a long time. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS to the devs

We will decrease the gems for daily quests from 5 to 3. That will save us.

Victoria! Save us VIP 10s. We are all like Bo Derek (back when she used to be a 10).
