Can't select enemies when fighting

I've run into a bug that happens every now and again where if I defeat an enemy, it won't let me select the enemies that are left to attack. I can click and select everything else on screen, just not the enemy that I need to defeat. When I run into this bug it usually requires me to exit out of the game completely to fix it.
